Camp Sunshine

Ok, so I still have my own teething problems with how this blog works, so my photos are out of whack for this post..
We went to Camp Sunshine in Maine for a Fanconi Anemia camp. It was our 2nd year (2007 was our first). It is somewhere we can hear doctors that specialise in FA talk about the latest and greatest things. There is a lot of old things that we get reminded about, but it is all part of the whole picture.
The kids get spoilt... Jasper, being 5 is in a place called the Tot Lot. He has someone that is with him all the time, and it is a case of him saying "I want to go and do..." and he gets it. No questions asked, he wants he gets. Hmm. Causes some issues for us afterwards, but it is worth the information we get.
I have added some of the photos we have taken... like I said there are teething problems on my part for order of pics and rotation.. will try better next time!!

These are some rocks near the baseball area.. Jasper was up them like a mountain goat!!
This one is Jasper with his wish boat. They have a ceremony where they can send them out into the water and make a wish then take the boat home.. no suprise what Jasper wished for... a real pirate boat!!

This is one of the volunteers that was in the Tot Lot... Meghan. she was there last year too, and Jasper has one big crush on her!!!

This was in NYC before we went to camp.. Jasper was totally excited to see a police car parked on the road, he asked for a photo!! this one was in Brooklyn.

The day before and the day after camp we stayed with a friend I made at camp, Doreen. She lives about 1 hour from camp with her 5 kids. the 3 girls all have FA like Jasper.
(Left to Right: Jasper, Brooke, Jorja, Jordan, Julia (sitting on Doreen), James, Jacob).
Jasper fit in really well with the name thing... all the kids have names starting with "J"!!!

Jasper and Julia with some of the volunteers (one is Meghan) waiting for the motorbikes to come past.. they organised 200 motorbikes to come roaring past, then they parked up on the oval and the kids could have a look. Jas loves motorbikes but was totally intimidated. There were so many, and they were so loud.
Here is Jasper sitting on a Police Bike. He is weraring the cops sunglasses too!! It was the only one he wanted to sit on, and asked ever so politely!!!
Last year we put Jasper in a clinical trial for the early detection of mouth cancers in Germany. The doctor was back this year, so we went back for another "mouth tickle".

Ok, photos done. this was a pretty busy post, and there is more to come with some more photos from the rest of our holiday..

Thanks for reading.
