Dora The Explorer, anyone?

Saturday afternoon... 2pm... Molly had been asleep for 1 1/2 hours... It was time to wake up and get going to the biggest thing that has happened in her young life so far...

I sneak in to her room, put the light on low (she has a fancy dimmer switch in her bedroom, don't you know..). 

She stirs a little and I whisper "I'm sorry darling. I just got a phone call from Dora. She is having a party and wants to know if you can come. Are you awake."

Two little hazel eyes pop open, she sits up and say "yes. I go Dora party".

One quick outfit and diaper change, and we were on our way!!

The whole drive in, she kept asking "we at Dora party, mummy?"

I kept replying "soon, baby, soon. Dora wont have a party without her Molly. It's ok."

Much to his horror (pre-show), Jasper had to come with us... At the time of buying the tickets, we did not know what Paul's work schedule was going to be like, so I thought it best be safe and get him a ticket. Here he is before the show, eating a mandarin, and trying SO HARD to be invisible!

 The kids were given stars as we walked in the doors to wave during the show.

 Jasper got a star too, so he promptly gave his to his delighted little sister!

 Waiting for the show to start... The seats were right at the back, but Dora, being a real girl and all, was plenty big enough for us to see.

 Super excited eating popcorn and waiting for intermission to be over already!!!

 

 We weren't allowed to use a flash during the performance, so I have no photos... But the show was pretty awesome!
Jasper even secretly enjoyed it! (he says it was lame, but he couldn't take his eyes off the stage the whole time!!)

Molly was stunned and a bit shocked at the beginning... It was like she couldn't really believe Dora (and Diego) were there on stage for HER! They blew her kisses and EVERYTHING!
The second part of the show, she was a lot more into it... Screaming and yelling at Swiper to stop swiping, and singing all her favorite songs!!
It was a worthwhile trip, and something she is talking about 2 days later...

After the show, Jasper had a Scouts outing at Scitech. We were 10 minutes away from the venue, so dropped him off on our way home. It was a late night for him, 10pm bed time for the first time... well, ever I think!
He even slept til 8:30am the next morning!!!

Here is Molly playing with a glass barricade above some elevators... She was smooshing her face up and waving at people!!

So, no photos of Jasper... He was in a MOOD from the Dora concert, and would rather stab himself in the big tow than admit he was there, let alone that he enjoyed it!!!

Another post soon... on our trip to the animal farm..
