New York Part 1 (2012)

We have arrived at Tuesday SO fast! We arrived on Friday night, and today is the day we drive up to Maine.
So far, our stay in New York has had naps for little girls and their momma, lots of walking, a little direction malfunction, the purchase of a stroller for tired little girl legs, and lots of fun.

Here are some of the things we have done:

Starting with the apartment.. It's a 2 bedroom, and pretty nice. We are on the upper west side, and everything is close enough..

The reason we came to New York and stayed for a few days, rather than just driving straight up to Maine is pictured below.

I call Jordan my American daughter. She has FA, like Jasper, and is currently at the hospital in New York having undergone a bone marrow transplant.
She is away from her family, and friends  for a long long time. She is so sweet and loving. I am so happy we have her in or lives.

Dont ask me about the face Molly is pulling... she was just woken up from a long sleep (to get her over her jet lag, or she would have slept all day!), and this is the face we got!
She loved Jordan (well, lets be honest.. what's not to love!)
This was the sweetest thing... Jordan asked Molly if she wanted to touch her head... Molly loved it, and said it was soft! It was just beautiful.
On the first morning (Saturday), Molly decided 4am was the PERFECT time to wake up. This is what we looked like... me tired, her full of beans!
These photos will be a bit out of order, and disjointed, but since there are over 50 of them, I cant be bothered re-ordering them.. I'm sure you'll get over it!
Our first ride on the Subway.. I said "say cheese". Molly complied. Jasper pulled a face, and Paul said "Provolone". Silly boys.
We were on our way to see the World Trade Centre site, meeting Doreen and Jordan there.
The kids at a fountain near the WTC site.
The one item that has caused us issues!! We got this cell phone last year, and just had to reactivate it and put minutes on this year... sounds simple, right? hmmm,. long story, but basically, it was a nightmare, and we couldnt ring in or out for a while... not good when you are meeting people somewhere super busy and you arent 100% sure where you're going!! Doreen helped do some translating for us to start with to get it working, then when it decided to deactivate overnight, Super-Paul fixed it.
Here is one of the Memorial Towers
Jasper and Jordan looking at the Memorial Pool. This is where one of the original towers stood. It is big and impressive.
Molly and her daddy... she did have her hair done nice, but decided the feral look was more in-vogue for NYC!
2 gals with their feral hair..

There she is!!! My BAFF!! Jordan;s momma, Doreen.
 The other Memorial Tower.
A grassed area that will be between the Twin Memorial Pools when the second one is finished.
Two of our kids at lunch..
 the girls..
 Silly girls
Jasper with a pizza bigger than his head.. He managed to eat half!!
Fancy fire engine. It was for looking at only.
Doreen and Jordan bought these pictures for Molly... They have some therapy dogs that come in to the hospital, and it so happens that one is called MOLLY and another one is called MILES. Cute!

We went to Time Square  Monday night. Guess who was there?? Elmo and SpongeBob!

Jasper saw this HALO Lego man, and wanted a photo...
Molly was scared by this dinosaur... it moves, makes noise, and feels like it LOOKS at you... Once we left him, she kept asking for him, so we went back, and she said "he not real. he no eat me."
I warned you, Jordan!! You had the option to have a retake...

Doreen took us to this awesome Mexican restaurant for dinner. The food was superb, and the margaritas were delicious!!!

This is what tired looks like, Molly style..
How cute is this little thing!!!

I think this little thing is cuter though!!

 My climbing monkey..
 My sliding monkey..

Such a good big brother... helping his sister at a playground in Central Park.
Swinging like a monkey, "look at me!" She actually hung for a while with no support!

There was a water spray thing at the playground.. Jasper got drenched. It was pretty warm, so he dried in no time.

 Some jumping and horsing around.

We found the Grumpy Old Troll's bridge!!
We went squirrel and chipmunk hunting (the kids are both going "shhhh" here)
 Looking, looking, looking.
Then we found the Grumpy Old Trolls chair!
Eating an icecream on a hot summer day in Central Park. Can you believe they had a Dora icecream??
 and a SpongeBob one???
All in all, it has been fun, and tiring. There have been some 4am wakeups by Molly, and some 10pm bed times for me..
We are driving up to Maine today, which is 6 hours, so I might get a nap... Not holding my breath though!!

I will update again before Camp Sunshine starts on Friday...

thanks for reading and viewing the deluge of photos!!

Brooke
